Too cheaply made August 15, 2008 Aileen Forman (Flippin, AR USA) I bought this after my last laser thermometer was caught in a rainstorm and died. I wasn't able to get another just like it, so I thought I'd try something cheaper. Right from the start this thermometer showed signs of being inaccurate and it got steadily worse. Now, after only using it 4 times, it's off by almost 25 degrees. Buy something else. This one's not worth it.
You get what you pay for I suppose July 13, 2008 Peacemaker (Haledon, NJ) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Igloo has free shipping but the front is faux metal (silver plastic). If I had to do it over again I'd get the Emerson (stainless front) Emerson 8-Bottle Wine Cooler - Stainless Steel -- $20 shipping to NJ. Also the temp indicator is off; setting the unit to 52 degrees yields 60 degree wine -- Actron CP7875 PocketTherm Infrared Thermometer. I believe the PocketTherm to be correct as it determined ice water to be 32/33 degrees.
Liking the lighted display May 15, 2008 Charmaigne Johnson (somewhere in Michigan) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
While wandering around in the dark taking random tempertures, I find that the lighted display works awesome. Easy to read and not too bright that I have to readjust to the dark.
Shop somewhere else! May 4, 2008 Philip Dreher 0 out of 8 found this review helpful
For the price I paid, I would have expected more. I also ordered another, more expensive product which I never recieved. It is excrutiatingly hard to find anyone that has any qualifications let alone one that could possibly help you. Amazon.com is the biggest ripoff. For the love of all things human, shop somewhere else.
If you like gizmos ... March 13, 2008 RDK 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a 5 star little gizmo for the gadget freaks among us. For anyone else a 3 or 4. You will quickly run out of things to measure around the house -- but it's fun anyway. Do be advised that for any consistent reading you must hold this at a precise distance from your target or the reading will vary greatly. Not a defect -- but just a fact of measurement.
