I use this to lock two bicycles to the trailer hitch of my car.
It will not stop a determined thief, but it will make one think twice and slow one down for a few seconds. I would not use this in a dicey neighborhood or where the bicycles were out of sight.
I feel it works as well as any other cable this diameter, which is to say, not all that well if someone has the right tool to cut it.

It was cut clean, and my bike is gone.
I live in NYC by the way. If you live here you need a either huge chain or kryptonite high end U locks.
all braided cables are no good in NYC no matter how thick they are. It was such an expensive lesson, i hope other bikers make a wise decision.
