Good Electronics, but poor vision June 27, 2008 Randall Goff (Los Angeles, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
"Electronic portion works great! However the mirror portion was dark, wavy and hard on the eyes. The most disappointing part however was when I asked for a refund and VR3 requested that I write a good review of their service and their product before they would issue a refund. They wanted to see the positive review on this site before cutting the check. The problem with the mirror could be dangerous."
It's Ok...... June 11, 2008 Robert Waples (Nowhere, USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this because I have a complete sports car, that comes with nothing hi-tech. I just wanted to be able to talk without holding something to my head or wearing anything. So I bought this. I like it ok, I guess. Here are my findings: Pros: 1) It does what it was supposed to do, let you talk without using hands. 2) It has crystal clear reception. I can clearly hear and be heard. 3) It's "in mirror screen" is a good addition to the features. Cons: 1) It clips OVER the stock mirror, instead of replaces it. This creates a heavy, big, bulky mirror, that needs to be adjusted every time I get in the car because it sags down. 2) The quality of the mirror that comes with this thing is crap. It's dark and I can't see anything in it. I have taken to looking at my side mirrors for what I used to just glance in the rearview mirror for. Very disappointing. 3) Too many features, buttons and functions. Just give me a mirror that is clear and sharp, that I can talk on. Keep the hundred buttons and this and that. If I wanted a detachable ear piece, or a private conversation, I would just pick up the handset. 4) I have to stretch a cord from my lighter socket, up through the air, and across the car to the mirror to recharge it. If my car isn't running, my socket's not on, so how is it supposed to charge? Batteries would have been better. 5) The music I listen to is bass heavy. Every time the bass hits, the mirror vibrates and I can't see a damn thing in it. 6) If you want to try to charge the mirror and use it to talk at the same time, forget it. The caller will hear a hum that is too loud to hear you talk, so you have to unplug it to carry a conversation and hope your battery doesn't die. 7) Slight feedback through the car speakers. When the person talks, and it plays through the mirrors, it's picked up by the mic and sent around again, creating a buzz. Me no likey.... Ok, the cons out weigh the Pros, so I guess it's well-thought-out CRAP. Save your money folks. For the price they are asking, I am sure there are better alternatives than this thing.
