OTC 6900 socket review August 23, 2010 normh High quality tool that is a must for changing spark plugs in the Ford 5.4L It just works.
Good tool to go with the Lisle 6500 July 27, 2010 James H. Agans (Maryland)
I bought this socket/extension with the Lisle plug removal tool and I am glad I did. Along with other extensions, It helps you keep the torque at a right angle to the center line of the spark plug. This tool does not take the place of the Lisle tool, but it may make its use somewhat less probable. For the price, it is worth it, especially when you consider what you would have to fork over to a Ford dealer to change your plugs. Just keep in mind that it does not do what the Lisle tool does.

I ordered this item on Amazon and a few days later I received an e-mail from Amazon indicating the tool was sold out and I could reorder when it was back in stock. When the item was back in stock... the price had gone up more than double!! I e-mailed the seller (ToolCrib)through Amazon and asked why I couldn't buy it at the same price and was told the manufacturer (OTC) raised the price. This happened months ago and I still don't have the tool to use and review! The one star rating is for ToolCrib and OTC, NOT for the Spark Plug Socket 6900 or for Amazon. I ordered from another seller (for less money) but I've received two e-mails over the past 6 weeks indicating the tool is on backorder. Yes, my credit card was charged for the order also and my truck still needs the plugs replaced!

Before finding this product I had to modify a deep socket to change plugs. I changed the plugs now with no worries of losing socket in the block.
Here's a Tip November 25, 2009 Squito Mag Bites! 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Here's a tip, do yourself a big favor and get Kano - Aerokroil Penetrating Oil and spray the plugs a couple of times before trying to remove them. This stuff will save your butt! My neighbor has a F-150 with the 100,000 mile plugs and he was having fits trying to get them out. A couple of sprays, a couple hours of waiting and out they came.
