 Works Great for Jumps + DC Plug & Light are Great December 31, 2008

I bought this for my pick-up truck, because of the cold winters where I live.
Pros:
1- Light
2- DC Plug
3- Always starts my truck up and works in seconds, when my truck battery needs a jump due to cold weather (I have an Optima Battery that is about eight years old and has always been susceptible to being parked for several days in freezing weather).
4- Very simple to use! The easy instructions on the unit itself are very helpful (especially the first couple of uses).
5- Re-charges very quickly after a jump, or DC Plug use while not plugged into AC.
Other Comment:
- The instructions told me to place its black end to a "non-painted metal part," but that didn't work for me - until I placed on the black portion, of my battery.
I heavily recommend this product! Don't let your neighbors know you have this jumper, unless you want them dropping by often.

I no longer had this product a week and I have used it 4 times. Worked great everytime. Christmas shopping can be trying but when you come back out to your car and the battery is dead, you don't want that. 4 people reaped the benifits of my prior planning. They all said they are going to buy this product. Sells itself.

Just sent back the second defective unit. Schumacher said they never recieved the first one I returned and I received the replacement a day later (their record keeping leaves a lot to be desired). The replacement was also defective! I bailed out and asked for a refund. Made in China-Beware.

Sure, professional grade jumpers work the best, but aren't always the convenient. This Schumacher has the power to compete with the best, but easy enough for child to use.
Pros: lots of power (enough to jump big batteries), ease of use, docking station, charge seems to stay for a long period of time
Cons: a bit heavy
Conclusion: I think this is definitely worth getting, especially if you're driving a car that seems to die all the time. Its been a life saver on many occasions.

I received the Jump start for Christmas last year and have tried to use it twice with no luck. Can anyone tell me the proper way to hook it up. I can't find my booklet for it ? Thank you. "Frustrated."
